JIE LI
Mr. Jie Li (pronounced "Jay
Lee"), a Chinese artist was born in Liaoning, China in 1960. Mr. Li
realized his talent for drawing very early in his life when he was just a child.
Mr. Li came to the United States in 1987, as a graduate student at the Catholic
University of America and majored in cello performing arts. He won the first
prize in Concerto competition in 1991 and achieved his doctorate degree in Music
Art in 1993. While performing and teaching cello in the Washington, D.C. area,
Mr. Li started his own portrait drawing studio and his clients grew rapidly
because of his excellent talent as a portrait artist. His portrait works are
beyond just rendering likeness, his art clearly presents the personalities of
his subjects; his art is precise and his true talent is exhibited and
demonstrated in his works. According to one of our satisfied customers, “Mr.

really make a connection with the piece.
His portraits are truly striking"! Through many years of hard work, Mr. Li
